Educational institutions going on 38-day vacation

News Desk:  Educational institutions are going on a 38-day holiday, including several holidays including the holy month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr. This holiday will start from March 2 and will continue until April 8. After the holiday, educational institutions will reopen on April 9. The Ministry of Education published the academic calendar for 2025 on December 23 last year. This holiday was scheduled in it.

According to the academic calendar, the holy Ramadan, Dol Yatra, Independence and National Day, Jumatul Bida, Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr holidays have been kept together. This long holiday begins with Ramadan on March 2 and ends on April 8 after Eid-ul-Fitr.

Meanwhile, various educational institutions across the country, including the capital, have put up holiday notices since Monday (March 24). It mentions that the holidays will start from March 2. However, since February 28 and March 1 are weekly holidays, Friday and Saturday, the educational institutions also mentioned in the notice that classes will be held on Thursday (February 27), the last day before the holidays.

On the other hand, the Guardian Unity Forum has demanded that all educational institutions in the country continue their classes until the 20th Ramadan. On Monday afternoon, the organization's president Ziaul Kabir Dulu and general secretary Selim Mia submitted a memorandum to the Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHHE), Professor Dr. Azad Khan.

The organization's president, Ziaul Kabir Dulu, said, "Not all the books have reached the students yet. They have not studied properly in the last two months. In between, there is a more than a month-long holiday for Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr. After that, the SSC exams will start. Therefore, we have demanded that even if it is not possible to hold classes directly during this long holiday, online classes should be held. In short, students should be kept in their studies."

Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, Director of the Secondary Department of Mausi, told Jago News, "This long holiday is according to the curriculum. Although this time there has been some shortage due to the late receipt of books. This holiday occurs every year. Even then, if the higher authorities take any decision on the matter, we will implement it."
