Arrested in a shop in Bishwanath, Sylhet for possessing pornography

News Desk: Police have arrested a shopkeeper in Bishwanath, Sylhet on charges of storing and selling pornography on computers. He was arrested on Saturday evening from his business company 'Sukhpakhi Computer' in the local Meer Bazar. The arrested person is Raju Mia (23).

He is the son of late Kabir Uddin of Raikeli village in Dashghar union of the Upazila. According to police sources, the arrested Raju Mia had been storing pornography on computers for a long time and selling them. Through him, the local young generation became addicted to pornography. Raju was arrested in a raid on a shop called 'Sukhpakhi Computer' in the wake of such allegations.

Four computer hard disks and 10 card readers were also seized. Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bishwanath Police Station Arup Sagar Gupta Kamal confirmed the matter and said, "A case was filed against him under pornography control section that night after his arrest." In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bishwanath Police Station Shamim Musa said, "Raju Mia, who was arrested after filing a case under the Pornography Control Act, has been sent to the Sylhet court on Sunday morning.
