6 killed in bus-truck collision in Bogra

News Desk: Six people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck at Sherpur in Bogra. 10 more people were injured. The tragic accident took place in the early hours of Sunday (February 21) in the College Gate area.

The injured have been admitted to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Witnesses and firefighters said the SR Paribahan from Dhaka to Bogra collided head-on with a truck carrying stones from Rangpur to Dhaka at around 5.30 am.

The front of the bus and truck is twisted. Six people, including the bus driver-helper, were killed on the spot. Later, the fire service personnel along with the locals rescued the injured and admitted them to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College.

According to the highway police, the accident took place due to the high speed of the truck and the work of four lanes on the road. Traffic was light at this time of night for about two hours after the accident. Later, traffic resumed from 8 am.
