Two killed, including driver, hit by truck in Madaripur

News Desk: In Gopalganj's Muksudpur upazila, a truck loaded with stones lost control and collided with a tree and overturned, killing the driver and two others. One person was injured at the time. The accident took place near Charprasannadi Bridge No. 1 of Muksudpur upazila on the Dhaka-Barisal highway on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as truck driver Sajib Mridha, 23, son of Musa Mridha of Fuksa area in Kushtia district and worker Shahin, 25, son of Omar Farooq of Chaprain area in Madhupur upazila of Jhenaidah district. According to locals, a truck carrying stones lost control and overturned on the Dhaka-Barisal highway near Charprasannadi Bridge No. 1 in Muksudpur upazila in the morning.

The driver was killed on the spot when he was hit by a live truck. The on-duty doctor declared Shahin dead after rescuing the two in critical condition and taking them to Rajoir Hospital. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the highway. Ordinary long-distance passengers suffered. Broken highway police ASI said. Abdul Jabbar Mollah has confirmed this information.
