The court granted bail to the accused after marrying the rape victim in Jhenaidah

News Desk: A court in Jhenaidah has granted bail to an accused named Nazmul Hossain (20) for agreeing to marry a rape victim. The marriage was solemnized at noon on Thursday (February 11) under the direction of District and Sessions Judge Abu Ahsan Habib.

Nazmul Hossain is the son of Jahidul Islam of Kanchannagar area of ​​the district town.

According to court sources, Nazmul Hossain had a love affair with the girl from Gayeshpur village in the district headquarters several years ago. Nazmul went to the girl's house on January 15 last year and raped her.

The next day, the girl's uncle filed a case with the Sadar Police Station and the police arrested Nazmul and sent him to jail. The boy’s father Zahidul Islam commented, ‘That girl developed a close relationship with my son. At one point, the girl's family told her to marry my son. If we don't agree, the girl files a rape case in my son's name. In that case, my son spent 13 months in prison.

Today the marriage of son and daughter is completed through the court. My son has been granted bail after marriage. We are both happy about that. " Defendant's lawyer Aminul Islam said the case was pending at the police station.

The final chargesheet has not been filed yet. However, with the consent of both the families, their marriage was consummated at the direction of the district judge in the cabinet of three lakh rupees. And the court granted bail to Nazmul.
