Coronavirus: 2.3 million deaths worldwide, about 100 million infected

News Desk: The number of people infected and dying from the global pandemic coronavirus is increasing day by day. So far, 10 crore 49 lakh 1 thousand 604 people have been identified as infected with corona worldwide. As a result, 22 lakh 8 thousand 440 people have died and 8 crore 8 lakh 29 thousand 434 people have recovered.

The data was released on Thursday (February 4) at 8:30 am from the international statistics-based website WorldMeter. According to their latest data, the Corona epidemic has so far affected 221 countries and territories around the world. The United States is the most affected country in the world. In the country, 2 crore 81 lakh 50 thousand 458 people have been identified as infected with corona. Of these, 4 lakh 61 thousand 930 people have died and 1 crore 89 lakh 8 thousand 6 people have recovered.

India ranks second in the list of affected countries. Corona infection has been detected in 1 crore 8 lakh 91 thousand 123 people in the country. Of these, 1 lakh 54 thousand 742 people have died and 1 crore 4 lakh 89 thousand 506 people have recovered. Brazil is in third place in terms of corona infection. The number of patients identified as infected with corona in the country is 93 lakh 39 thousand 420 people.

Of these, 2 lakh 26 thousand 573 people have died and 82 lakh 36 thousand 84 people have recovered. Russia ranks fourth, the United Kingdom fifth, France sixth, Spain seventh, Italy eighth, Turkey ninth and Germany tenth. Bangladesh ranks 31st in the list. China, the country of origin of the virus, is ranked 63rd. At present, the number of infected people in the country is 69,749. Of these, 4,636 people have died.

The first coronavirus was detected in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. The first patient died in Corona on January 9 last year. On January 13 of that year, the first corona patient was identified outside of China in Thailand. Later, the virus gradually spread throughout the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global health emergency on January 30 last year due to the corona outbreak.

On February 2, the first death of a patient in Corona outside China occurred in the Philippines. Then on March 11, the World Health Organization declared Corona a global epidemic.
