10 people die of heat stroke in a week

News Desk:  10 people have died due to 'heat stroke' in the last one week due to the extreme heat wave going on in the country. Among them, three people died of heat stroke on Monday (April 29).

All three are men. Besides, five more patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of the country due to heat stroke.

The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Department of Health reported this information at 9 am on Tuesday (April 30).

They said that two of the 10 people who died were from Madaripur. Apart from this, one person each died in Chuadanga, Khulna, Habiganj, Rajbari, Jhenaidah, Lalmonirhat, Bandarban and Chittagong districts.

According to the control room, eight out of 10 people who have died of heat stroke across the country are men and two are women. Out of the three new deaths due to heat stroke, two died in Madaripur district. Another person died in Chittagong district.

Health department officials said that the health department has prepared a guideline for the treatment of heat-related illnesses. On April 22, the officers of the Directorate trained the trainers in the use of these guidelines.
