One person died of dengue in 24 hours, 22 were hospitalized

News Desk:  One person has died due to dengue infection in the last 24 hours. Besides, 22 more dengue patients have been admitted to different hospitals across the country. This information was informed in a press release about dengue sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Department of Health on Wednesday (May 8).

It is said that in the last 24 hours, 22 people have been admitted to the hospital due to dengue infection. Among the victims, seven people were from Barisal Division (outside City Corporation), five from Chittagong Division (outside City Corporation), two from Dhaka Division (outside City Corporation), two from Dhaka North City Corporation, three from Dhaka South City Corporation, one from Mymensingh Division (outside City Corporation) and There are two in Rajshahi Division (outside City Corporation).

In 24 hours, a total of 19 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals across the country, a total of 2,205 people have been discharged this year.

As of May 8 this year, a total of 2,360 people have been affected by dengue. Among them there are 1 thousand 432 men and 928 women.
One person has died due to dengue infection in the last 24 hours. A total of 28 people have died of dengue so far this year. Among the dead are 13 men and 15 women.

From January 1 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1,705 people died due to dengue, and 3,21,179 people were hospitalized due to dengue.
