Tangail Correspondent: A discussion meeting has been held in Tangail on the occasion of Intellectuals' Day at the initiative of the district administration. On the occasion of the celebration of the day on December 14 at 11 am organized by the Deputy Commissioner. A discussion meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Md. Ataul Gani.

Attended the discussion meeting Former Member of Parliament for the reserved women's seat Monowara Begum (MP), Additional Superintendent of Police Shafiqul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Aminul Islam, Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Wahiduzzaman, Upazila Parishad Chairman Shahjahan Anshari, Tangail Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Subrata Kumar Sikder, District Joint-General Secretary of Awami League Bir Muktijoddha Kh. Ashrafuzzaman Smriti 'Bir Muktijoddhagan' and other officers and employees. In the discussion meeting, the negotiators remembered the intellectuals who were martyred in the liberation war of 1971 and prayed for the forgiveness of their souls and highlighted the contribution of the intellectuals in the liberation war.

In order to commemorate the martyred intellectuals of 1971, the names and identities of the martyred intellectuals and those involved in this brutal massacre are urged to be preserved at every district and national level.
