Manu was nominated by Awami League in Dhaka-5 constituency and Helal in Naogaon-6

News Desk: The ruling Awami League has given party nomination in the by-elections of Dhaka-5 and Naogaon-6 constituencies. Kazi Monirul Islam Manu has been nominated for Dhaka-5 constituency. And Naogaon 6 has been nominated. Anwar Hossain Helal.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader confirmed the information in a video conference from his home on Monday. Kazi Monirul Islam Manu is the president of Jatrabari Thana Awami League in the capital. He was born in 1952 in the traditional Kazi family of Jatrabari.

He joined politics from the source of family tradition. While studying at Jagannath College in 1969, Manu was inspired by the ideals of Bangabandhu and became involved in the politics of Chhatra League. He was elected the Secretary of Cultural Affairs of the College Students' Parliament for his organizational skills.

Anwar Hossain Helal is the chairman of Raninagar Upazila Parishad of Naogaon and vice president of Upazila Awami League.

The Election Commission (EC) has announced the schedule for the by-elections in Dhaka-5 and Naogaon-6 constituencies. Voting in these two constituencies will take place on October 18 from 9 am to 5 pm.

The Dhaka-5 seat was declared vacant by the EC on May 8 after the death of ruling party MP Habibur Rahman Mollah. Israfil Alam, a ruling party MP from Naogaon-6 constituency, died on July 29 after being attacked by Corona. As a result, the EC also declared this seat vacant. There is a constitutional obligation to hold an election within 90 days after a seat is declared vacant.
