Sports desk: 4 footballers of the Argentinian Premier Division club Velez Sarsfield have been arrested on rape charges. This month, a 24-year-old sports journalist was accused of raping in a hotel room.

The four arrested footballers are 37-year-old goalkeeper Sebastian Sosa of Uruguay, 27-year-old midfielder Jose Florentin of Paraguay and Argentina's Brian Kufr and Abiel Osorio. They are under investigation for rape. At this time they are being detained for 48 hours so that they cannot escape. The complainant's lawyer, Patricia Neme, told a local television station that they have enough evidence to arrest him before the hearing. The 24-year-old female journalist was invited by Sosa to this hotel in Tucuman, Argentina. The other three footballers were already there. The journalist said that he was dizzy after drinking with four people. She was lying on a bed and was raped soon after. Velez Sarsfield said in a statement today that the four footballers have been banned and an internal club investigation has been ordered against them. After 48 hours, a judge will decide whether to extend the detention of the four footballers.
