Sports Desk:  Mostafizur Rahman returned to the country in the middle of the IPL for visa related work for 2024 T20 World Cup. In the absence of this left-handed pacer of Bangladesh, his team Chennai Super Kings lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad last night.

After the match, Chennai coach Steven Fleming said that Mustafiz and Sri Lankan pacer Mathisa Pathirana 'missed' the bowling service. In the press conference, he candidly admitted that his team was behind in bowling due to the absence of Mustafiz. Fleming said about Mustafiz, 'Undoubtedly it is part of the IPL. He (Mostafiz) is not here, so I could not use him. But injuries or unavailability of players are part of the game. '

Chennai set a target of 166 runs by batting first at Hyderabad's home ground. In reply, Abhishek Sharma's excellent batting got Hyderabad off to a good start. Then the hosts won by 6 wickets with Aiden Markram's fifty and Travis Head's 31-run innings. As a result, Chennai suffered its second consecutive loss.

Not being able to score enough runs in batting, Chennai lost mainly due to poor bowling. Mostafiz and Pathirana were the two main bowling arms of the team. Meanwhile, Mustafiz has returned to Bangladesh to complete his US visa. And Pathirana has been knocked out of the field due to injury. Indian pacer Mukesh Chowdhury, who played in place of Mostafiz yesterday, spent 27 runs in one over in the return match of IPL.

Mostafiz has so far picked up 7 wickets in 3 matches in the jersey of his new team Chennai. He is second in the list of highest wicket takers. His teammate Pathirana took 4 wickets in 2 matches. Chennai will play against Kolkata Knight Riders at home on April 8. Mostafiz has the possibility to play in this match.
