Satkania Representative: Terrorists attacked an agro farm in Satkania upazila of Chittagong for non-payment of subscription to Puranagarh Union. Three people in charge of the farm were injured in the incident. The injured are - Mohammad Munna (25), Nurul Islam (23) and Mohammad Kamal (45). The incident took place on Monday (March 18) around 9:15 AM at Baitarani Green World Agro Farm, Ward No. 2, Puranagarh Union of the upazila.

Later, the terrorists fled in the face of the locals chasing three motorcycles. At that time, the angry crowd burnt three motorcycles left behind. Meanwhile, the police have arrested a person named Monshi Marma (27) on suspicion of involvement in the incident. The arrested Monshi Marma is the son of Monshu Marma of Gwalia Khora Roazir neighborhood of Sadar Upazila of Bandarban. He said that for the past few years, the local people have been fed up with the extortion of the hill terrorists in Puranagarh, Bajalia and Chadaha hills of Satkania. From agriculture to any work, new mountain terrorists appear.

If they don't pay as per their demand, the terrorists extort money by beating and threatening them with weapons. This time, the villagers of Purangarh are fed up with the extortion of hill terrorists and have resisted. Today, locals who came to Vaitarani to extort, chased the terrorists and burnt three motorcycles. They openly extort money from goods vehicles at Keranihat Bandarban road in Haldiya, Meghla Talukdar Para, Reichha, Majher Para and Sual. Mohammad Borhan Uddin, Manager of Green World Agro Farm, said, a hill terrorist group keeps demanding regular subscription from us.

Last Sunday night demanded 3 lakh taka from us. An armed group of 10 people attacked our farm on Monday morning as we did not pay the dues. Three people working in our farm were injured. As soon as we informed the local people, everyone chased them together, the terrorists left the motorcycle and ran away and hid in the hills. The three motorcycles left by them were set on fire by the angry crowd. One suspect of terrorist involvement was handed over to the police while fleeing the hill.

They are daily writing letters to people's businesses in this area for subscription. We will file a case in this case. Additional Superintendent of Police of Satkania Circle Shibli Noman said that some extortionists were chased by the locals as they came to the farm to look for money; On receiving such information, our police team went to the spot. At that time, the angry crowd set fire to three motorcycles used for extortion. One suspect has been arrested and brought to the police station. He is being interrogated.
