Sports Desk: Australia beat South Africa by an innings and 182 runs in the Boxing Day Test. With this victory, Ajira won the first two matches of the three-match Test series. David Warner's double century in the second Test helped Nathan Lyon-Scott Bowland reach victory with the ball.

Earlier, Dean Elgar's team collected 189 runs after losing the toss in the first innings at the MCG. In reply, Australia declared the innings by 575 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the first innings. After that, the Africans showed their batting failure in their second innings as well. They collected 204 runs in the second innings on Thursday losing all wickets.

Temba Bavuma scored the highest 65 runs in the second innings for the team. Besides, wicketkeeper batsman Kyle Veraini scored 33 runs. On the other hand, De Bruyne scored 28, Erwe 21 and Lungi Ngidi scored 19 runs. Spinner Lathan Lion took three wickets for Australia. Besides, pacer Scott Boland took two wickets. Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Steve Smith took one wicket each.

The third and final Test match of the three-match series will be played on January 4 next year (2023), venue Sydney Cricket Ground.
