Tofazzal Hossain Babu, Pabna: Miscreants beat and injured a journalist named Sirajul Islam Apon in Bhangura, Pabna. He was admitted to Pabna General Hospital with serious injuries. This incident happened on Thursday (October 6) around 10 pm. Sirajul Islam Apon is the son of Kalimuddin of village Ashtamanisha of Ashtamanisha union of Bhangura upazila. He is working as Bhangura upazila representative of Dainik Pratidir Sangbad newspaper. Police and locals said that Sirajul Islam lives in Ashtamanisha Bazar area of ​​Ashtamanisha Union, about 8 kilometers away from the upazila city. He owns an electronics store there. On Thursday evening Sirajul Islam came to Bhangura to attend press club meeting. After finishing the meeting, he left for Ashtamanisha on his motorcycle around 10:15 PM. When Sirajul Islam reached the deserted Kolkata Ghat area, about three kilometers from Bhangura Upazila, 6 miscreants on two motorcycles stopped Sirajul. Later, he got down from the motorcycle and immediately beat him up. Later a van driver plying on that road saw him and informed the local people. Later, the local people rescued journalist Sirajul Islam Apan with serious injuries and took him to Bhangura Upazila Health Complex. But the medical officer on duty immediately transferred Sirajul Islam Apon to the 250-bed Pabna General Hospital as the condition was serious. Kaushik Khan, the doctor on duty of Bhangura Upazila Health Complex, said that after observing the injured, it is initially assumed that his lungs and heart have been severely damaged due to severe injuries. Bleeding may occur in the heart and lungs. So his nose is bleeding and he is having trouble breathing. He needs advanced treatment urgently. Raihan Ali, organizing secretary of Bhangura Press Club, said that Sirajul Islam Apon's physical condition is very bad. I am in the hospital with him now. A complaint has already been lodged at Bhangura police station. He also said that various protest programs will be announced in this regard soon. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhangura police station Rashidul Islam said, the spot has been inspected. Attacks on journalists are very despicable. He also said that the attackers will be found and brought under the law.
