72-hour ultimatum to arrest accused in human chain in protest of attack on journalist in Pabna

Tofazzal Hossain Babu, Pabna: In Bhangura of Pabna, local journalists have organized a human chain program to protest against the terrorist attack on the upazila correspondent of Daily Pratidin Sangbad Patrika Sirajul Islam Apon. The speakers gave an ultimatum of the next 72 hours to arrest the accused in the human chain. Organized by Bhangura Press Club, this human chain was held in front of Bhangura Press Club at 12:30 on Sunday (October 9) in the presence of various organizations of journalists. Bhangura Press Club, Online Press Club, Reports Unity and Bangladesh Mofswal Forum Upazila Branch participated in the human bond. President of Bhangura Press Club Professor Mahbub-ul-Alam Bablu presided over and spoke, President of Bangladesh Mofswal Journalist Forum Upazila branch and Third Degree Representative Lecturer Ghiyas Uddin moderated and speeches were also given by SM Habibur Rahman, Editor of Chatmohar Barta Patrika, Belal, Editor of Dainik Saham Asmay Patrika. Speakers in the human chain said that 72 hours have passed since the terrorist attack on the journalist. A written complaint has also been given to the police station. Yet it is very sad that the police are reluctant to bring the attackers to justice. Speakers from the human chain gave 72 hours to the local police administration to arrest the accused. If the attackers are not brought to justice within 72 hours, the local police administration announced a news boycott. Earlier, a rally circumambulated the main thoroughfare of the city. It is to be noted that last Thursday (October 6) at around 9:30 pm, the journalist was attacked in Kolkata Nadi Ghat area of ​​Sadar Union of Bhangura Upazila and is currently undergoing treatment at Pabna Sadar Hospital.
