Elections will be held on time in accordance with the Constitution and following globally recognized democratic norms and procedures.” Obaidul Quader commented that a certain section of the country including BNP is psychologically suffering from 'denial syndrome' and said, "They have no faith in the country's constitution, judicial system, elections, public opinion, democratic norms. Again and again they choose the path of conspiracy and intrigue. They always try to seize state power through assassination-cue-conspiracy without elections.” The bridge minister said, "Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP, seized state power without any election by killing the country's constitution and democracy. They have traditionally indulged in conspiracies to retain power illegally, and have repeatedly been forced to step down in the face of resistance from the people of Bangladesh." In view of the recent statement of BNP leaders about the caretaker government, Obaidul Quader said, “The responsibility of destroying the caretaker government system is also on BNP – BNP shamelessly partisanized the non-partisan caretaker government system to sustain their illegal power. Amended the constitution to increase the retirement age of judges to ax power in the name of caretaker government.” He said, "BNP even hijacked the post of the head of the caretaker government by giving the party president. BNP destroyed all the state institutions of the country during their rule. The highest court of the country has given the final judgment that the system of caretaker government is illegal and unconstitutional.” Obaidul Quader said, “The party called BNP never practices democracy and they do not follow democratic norms in the management of the party. BNP has even amended the constitution to give political legitimacy to corrupt leaders. Only those who do not believe in democracy and do not follow democratic norms, those who indulge in conspiracies and conspiracies against the country can say - 'I do not know the Election Commission, I do not understand the Election Commission, I do not accept the Election Commission.''
