Preparatory meeting of Municipal Puja Celebration Council in Bogra on the occasion of the upcoming Rath Yatra

Bogra Correspondent: A preparatory meeting of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Municipal Committee was held at Sanatan Mandir on Satmatha Temple Road in Bogra on Friday afternoon to ensure smooth completion of Rath Yatra of Jagannath Deb, one of the religious festivals of followers of traditional religions. General Secretary of the Committee Sujit Kumar Talukder gave a welcome address in the meeting presided over by the President of the organization Parimal Prasad Raj. The meeting also discussed important issues related to Rath Yatra for the organization including its co-president Sanjeev Prasad Jaiswal, Atul Kumar Saha, joint general secretary Sanju Roy, organizing secretary Shekhar Roy, office secretary Arup Ratan Sheel and treasurer Jiban Das. After discussing with everyone in the meeting, Parimal Prasad Raj said in his speech that Rath Yatra is celebrated in a very festive manner every year in Bogra where about 5 to 10 thousand devotees of traditional religion gather. So there will be hundreds of volunteers for the Municipal Worship Celebration Council to keep this huge crowd in order. The Bogra Municipal Committee family of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad will also provide water and prasad at the end of the Rath Yatra for the devotees who come for the Rath Yatra like every year. He said that in order for the devotees to be able to participate in the festival without any hindrance, the leaders of all levels of the puja celebration council have to fulfill their responsibilities from their respective positions. He also urged the district administration and district police families to take appropriate measures to maintain overall security as usual. Nibaran Das, Debashish Saha, Ranjan Kumar Kundu, Shubhankar Kundu Pappu, Suranjit Sarkar, Sudeb Das, Paltan Kumar Das among others were also present at the meeting.
