Special puja of small ethnic groups in Faridpur to protect humankind from epidemics

Ehsan Rana, Faridpur: In order to protect mankind from corona and epidemics, special religious, ritual and other religious activities were held in Kamaleshwardi of Boalmari upazila of Faridpur. The event, which started on Tuesday afternoon at Datta Para, Bara Mahato Para and Chhota Mahto Para for two hundred years, ended on Wednesday morning. Several groups of Matua community from different areas joined the event. Shyamal Kumar Mahato, on behalf of the organizers, said that puja worship and festivals have been taking place here for two hundred years. Following this, various ceremonies have been completed in the religious ceremonies including worship at Bara Mahato Para Hajra Bhata Shiva Temple and Public Durga Temple, Baroari Temple, Rakshachandi Temple. Worshiper Sajal Tagore said that Rakshachandi Tagore protects humankind from epidemics such as diarrhea and cholera.
