1 killed in land dispute in Jamalpur

Imran Mahmud, Jamalpur: An old man named Mojibur Rahman was killed in a land dispute at Bagarchar Uttarpara Guchh village in Bakshiganj upazila of Jamalpur. The incident took place on Tuesday morning, June 14. Bakshiganj police have recovered the body of slain Mojibur Rahman. It is learned that Budu Sekh (60), a neighbor of Mojibur Rahman, was having a dispute over land in Uttarpara Guchh village of Bagarchar in Bakshiganj upazila of Jamalpur. On Tuesday morning, the deceased Mujibur Rahman went to plant trees in the land. On hearing the news, Budu Sheikh's men went to the spot and obstructed him. The two sides quarreled and clashed over this. At one stage, Budu Sheikh pushed Mujibur Rahman and threw him on the ground and grabbed him in the sewage water. Mojibur Rahman died in that situation. The killer Mujibur Rahman is absconding after the incident. Upon receiving the news, Bakshiganj police arrived at the spot and recovered the body of the deceased Mujibur Rahman. Bakshiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Tariqul Islam said the body was recovered. The legal process is ongoing.
