Zaheer Raihan of Jabiprabir will play for the country in the Tokyo Olympics

Jessore Correspondent: Zaheer Raihan, a first year student of Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) Department of Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST), is participating in athletics discipline for Bangladesh at the Tokyo Olympics.

Zaheer is a record sprinter in Bangladesh's 400 meters. He is scheduled to leave Dhaka on a Qatar Airways flight to Tokyo on Sunday evening.

Zaheer Raihan is a first-year student of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) at Jabiprabir.

 He further said, "It is a matter of great fortune and pride that I am going to play for Bangladesh in an event like Olympic Games with the encouragement of all my teachers, my institution." I would like to pray for the blessings of all to reach its goal including raising the flag of the country which has brought fame for the country and the nation. However, he has no regrets about Haruk or Jituk. His goal this time is to break the previous record and set a new one. However, this is his main goal to give something for the country.

Zaheer Raihan set a national championship record with a time of 48.7 seconds in electronic timing. Earlier, he competed in the World Youth Athletics Championships and the Asian Youth Athletics Championships and qualified for the semis.
