The body of a young man was recovered in Chatmohar and he was charged with murder

Chatmohar (Pabna) Correspondent: Police have recovered the body of a man named Palash Hossain (40) from the canal of Gumani river in Chatmohar Upazila of Pabna on Saturday noon. The deceased was identified as Palash, son of Kurban Ali of Paka village under Bagatipara Upazila of Natore. Police and locals believe he was hacked to death after seeing signs of injuries on his body.

Police have arrested a woman named Rozina Khatun alias Sathi (25) for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the incident. Police said she was identified as a call girl. The arrested Rozina alias Sathi is the wife of late Hafizur Rahman of Khatbari village in Mulgram union of the Upazila. According to locals, Palash had been living in Samaj village for about three years after marrying Mausumi Khatun, daughter of Abdul Mutalib of Samaj Mia para village in Chatmohar Upazila.

He used to live in the house of Maulana Waz Uddin in Samaj Bazar with his wife and children. He is known in the area as Palash Driver. Locals and eyewitnesses said that some people including the slain Palash came to the social market on Friday night with Rozina alias Sathi. There is a dispute between them centering on Rozina. At one point the people of Samaj Bazar informed the Handial Police Investigation Center.

The police arrested Rozina around 8 pm and took her to the investigation center. At this time everyone fell in love. On Saturday afternoon, the locals saw the body of Palash buried in the canal of Gumani river near Samaj Bazar.

Upon receiving the news, the police went to the spot and recovered the body. Abdul Mutaleb, the father-in-law of the deceased, said Palash married his daughter about three years ago. His daughter is the second wife of Palash. Palash is also her daughter's second husband.

After marriage, he lived in society and rode a rented motorbike with a mini truck. For what reason, he does not know who killed him. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chatmohar Police Station Mohammad Aminul Islam confirmed the rescue of the body and said that Palash was killed due to a female incident. He has numerous cut marks on his body. He may have been hacked to death. Preliminary investigation and interrogation of Rozina alias Sathy found some clues.

It will be possible to arrest the culprits soon. The body has been sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case is being filed at the police station till the news is written.
