4 arrested in trawler and deer hunting trap in Sundarbans

News Desk: The Forest Department has arrested four hunters from the Sundarbans, including trawlers and deer hunting traps. The detainees were handed over to the forest court at 11 am on Thursday (March 18). Forest court judge Senior Judicial Magistrate Sameer Mallick has ordered to send the detainees to jail.

Earlier on March 17, the Forest Department arrested four hunters from the Kachikhali Sanctuary area of ​​the Sharanthola Range of the Sundarbans East Forest Department, including two trawlers and a 300-foot deer hunting trap.

The detainees are- Md. Sakina village of Taltoli upazila of Barguna district. Aaron Musalli's son said. Enayet Musalli (38), said the same village. Shah Alam Hawladar's son said. Awal Hawladar (20), Taltagali Sonaghata village. Atahar Sikder's son Abdul Rahim Sikder (40) and Md. Farhad Sikder (20).

Mohammad Belayet Hossain, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of the Sundarbans East Forest Department, said at 11 am on Thursday (March 18th) that based on secret information, he came to know that some people were waiting for deer hunting in the Kachikhali Sanctuary area.

On the morning of March 16, four hunters were arrested in the area along with two trawlers and a 300-foot deer trap. The detainees have been sent to the forest court.
