News Desk: After declining in two consecutive adjustments, the price of gold in Bangladesh has been increased once again by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS). The association has raised the price by Tk 4,432 per bhori, setting the new price of 22-carat gold at Tk 230,772 per bhori, including VAT.
BAJUS announced the decision in a statement issued on Monday (June 22). The revised prices came into effect from 10:00 a.m. on the same day.
According to the statement, the price of pure gold (acid gold) has increased in the local market. Considering the overall market situation, BAJUS has fixed new gold prices inclusive of VAT.
Under the revised rates, the price of 22-carat gold stands at Tk 230,772 per bhori (11.664 grams), including VAT. The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 220,391 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk 189,248 per bhori. Gold produced under the traditional method has been priced at Tk 154,606 per bhori.
Previously, BAJUS had adjusted gold prices on June 20, when it reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,216 per bhori, bringing it down to Tk 226,340 per bhori, including VAT.
At that time, the prices of 21-carat, 18-carat, and traditional-method gold were set at Tk 216,192, Tk 185,691, and Tk 151,690 per bhori, respectively, including VAT. Those rates also became effective from 10:00 a.m. on the day of the announcement.
With this latest adjustment, gold prices in Bangladesh have been revised 79 times so far this year. Among these, prices were increased on 40 occasions, reduced on 38 occasions, and VAT was adjusted once.
In comparison, during 2025, gold prices in the country were revised a total of 93 times, with prices increased 64 times and decreased 29 times.
