News Desk: According to the 2026 World University Rankings published by the UK-based renowned education magazine Times Higher Education, the University of Dhaka (DU) has advanced 200 positions compared to last year. Among the 3,118 universities listed globally, DU now ranks within the 801–1000 range.
The official website of the magazine released this information on Thursday, October 9.
The university has once again retained its position as the top university in the country.
A press release from DU’s Public Relations Office stated that last year the university was ranked in the 1001–1200 band. The improvement in the latest ranking reflects advancements in the research environment, research quality, and collaboration with industry.
The release detailed that DU’s research environment score increased from 10.3 to 13.3, research quality score rose from 67.2 to 76.5, and industry collaboration score improved from 21.4 to 33.2. The education score stands at 17.7, and the international outlook score is 45.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan congratulated all teachers, students, and stakeholders, stating that this success is the result of continuous effort and dedication.
