Urgent instructions for educational institutions

News Desk: The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) under the Ministry of Education has instructed all educational institutions under its jurisdiction to gradually implement a “Scientific Lifestyle Development and Mental Health Service Program.”

A 10-point directive regarding the program was issued on Thursday (March 5).

The information was disclosed in a notice signed by Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, Director (Secondary) of DSHE.

According to the notice, the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education, through its Government Secondary-1 branch, has approved a manual prepared by the Quantum Foundation titled “Scientific Lifestyle Development and Mental Health Service Program.” Based on this manual, all educational institutions (schools and colleges) under DSHE will arrange free one-day training sessions for teachers and students through a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

Key Instructions

1. Training Title:
   “Scientific Lifestyle Development and Mental Health Service Program” in educational institutions.

2. Implementation:
   According to the directive of the Ministry of Education and the MoU signed between DSHE and Quantum Foundation, all secondary-level institutions under DSHE will implement the training free of cost at their own venues.

3. Training Arrangement:
   Heads of educational institutions will coordinate with registered and designated volunteer trainers of Quantum Foundation to organize a one-day training program for teachers and students based on the program guidelines.

4. Monitoring System:
   To ensure regular implementation of post-training daily practice activities, each institution must form a monitoring pool following the “Implementation and Monitoring Guidelines” mentioned in Appendix-2(g) of the training manual.

5. Counseling and Implementation:
   The remaining guidelines in Appendix-2, including counseling services and implementation procedures, will be carried out as needed alongside students’ daily practice activities.

6. Operational Policy:
   The monitoring pool of each institution will operate according to the policies described in Appendices 2 and 4 of the training manual.
