Remittances reached $1.65 billion in 15 days

Economy Desk : Expatriate income in the 15 days of March was 1656.1 million US dollars, which is 20,370 crore taka in Bangladeshi currency (123 taka per dollar).

Bangladesh Bank released this information on Sunday (March 16).

According to calculations, expatriates send an average of $114 million every day.  

With Eid approaching, expatriates increase their remittances during Ramadan to meet the additional expenses of their families. This trend has been seen at various times before. This time too, they continue to send additional remittances.

According to Bangladesh Bank data, an average of $66.569 million was received daily in March of the previous year. In February of this year, an average of $92.72 million was received daily.  

A review of the data shows that $371.34 million came through state-owned commercial banks. $132.40 million came through state-owned agricultural banks.  

$1.15 billion 1620 thousand came through private commercial banks. $3.1 million came through foreign banks.
