It is recommended to give a second dose of corona vaccine after 8 weeks

News Desk: The Kovid-19 National Technical Advisory Committee has suggested that the second dose of corona vaccination should be given at intervals of 6-12 weeks. The advice was given to the government at the 26th online meeting of the advisory committee on February 14 at 8:30 pm.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Md. Shahidullah, Chairman of the Committee and with the participation of all the members, it was said that the Government of Bangladesh has successfully started the immunization program. Ignoring the initial fears, rumors, the larger population has been motivated to get vaccinated. Vaccination program is going on in an orderly manner. The National Technical Advisory Committee expressed satisfaction with the overall management and congratulated the government. Initially, the committee expressed its views on continuing the free vaccination program through government agencies.

The National Advisory Committee discusses the timing of the second dose of the Covishield vaccine and considers the decision to give a second dose between eight and 12 weeks, as recommended by the World Health Organization, scientifically reasonable.

The government is specially advised to follow this proposal. The government is urged to adopt and implement the action plan expeditiously with a view to the duration of the vaccine.
