DSCC's inter-ward sports competition will start on February 10

News Desk: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) is going to hold inter-world sports (football and cricket) competition for the first time. The tournament will be inaugurated on February 10 at Bangabandhu National Stadium.

This sports competition has been organized on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary and golden jubilee of independence. 65 wards of DSCC have been involved in the competition. Of these, 73 teams will play football and 64 teams will play cricket.

Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh made the announcement at a press conference at the DSCC's Nagar Bhaban on Thursday (February 4th). Madhumati Bank Limited and Gold Sponsor Orion Group are the platinum sponsors in this game.

At the press conference, Mayor Tapas said that out of 65 wards of DSCC, 63 teams will play football and 64 teams will play cricket. The entire competition will be conducted in a knockout manner. The inter-word sports competition will be inaugurated on February 10 at Bangabandhu National Stadium. The closing ceremony will be held on March 15.

The opening and closing matches of the football will be held at Bangabandhu National Stadium. The inaugural cricket final will be held at the Outer Stadium. This cricket and football game will be held in 13 fields of the city.

He added that the runners-up team will be given a cash prize of Tk 5 lakh for the champion team in cricket and football. The best players will be awarded Tk 20,000 as Man of the Tournament in Football and Man of the Series in Cricket.

DSCC CEO ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, DSCC Standing Committee on Sports and Cultural Affairs and 21st Ward Councilor Mokaddes Hossain Zahid, Bangladesh Football Federation President Kazi Salauddin, Madhumati Bank Managing Director Shafiul Azam Prom were present at the press conference.
