Sports Desk: It was unofficially announced earlier that this time 'Bangabandhu Cricket Series-2021' between Bangladesh and West Indies will be broadcast live on at least two private TV channels. An official announcement was made on Wednesday (January 18). The upcoming series will feature three ODIs and two Tests on a total of three channels, including state-run TV channel Bangladesh Television (BTV).

The entire series will be shown on BTV as well as the country's first sports channel T Sports and Citizen TV. The name of the official broadcaster was announced at a press conference in the ballroom of The Westin Hotel in the capital today (Monday) at 11:30 am. Bangladesh Cricket Board Media Manager Jalal Yunus mentioned the names of T Sports and Nagarik TV. Apart from Jalal Yunus, Bentech Limited Director Amjad Hossain Arju, Tea Sports Executive Director Nurul Islam Khan and Citizen TV Director Navidul Haque were also present on the occasion.

Bentech, the TV rights sports management company for the upcoming three-match ODI and two-match Test series against the West Indies, has been auctioned for around Tk 160 million (Rs 169 million) from a separate auction on January 8. They later contracted with T Sports and Citizen TV to broadcast the series matches. Amjad Hossain Arju, Director, Bentech, thanked BCB, T Sports and Citizen TV for announcing the name of the official broadcaster channel. He also hoped to be involved in Bangladesh cricket in the future.
