Sports Desk: The last recognized batsman Rishav Pant returned to the dressing room as the sixth wicket for the team's 18 runs. Even then, India was 163 runs behind Australia's 369 runs. The discussion everywhere is the same, how much lead will Australia get in the first innings of Brisbane Test? The answer to this question was found after 45.1 overs. Yes!

That's right, India batted the last 4 wickets in 45.1 overs, adding 150 runs to the scoreboard. The main credit goes to debutant offspinning all-rounder Washington Sundar and pace bowling all-rounder Shardul Tagore for the second match. A new page has been added to the record for the seventh wicket partnership of the two. After the faded performance of the top row batsmen, India managed to hold on to Australia's lead by just 33 runs with Sundar-Shardul's bat. In the end they were all out for 336 runs.

On the last afternoon of the third day, Aussies scored 21 runs in 6 overs. As a result, they will start the fourth day's play with a lead of 54 runs. Today (Sunday) India started the third day's play with 72 runs for 2 wickets. Almost all of the recognized batsmen have been out after a good start for failing to make the innings big. Cheteshwar Pujara (25), Ajinkya Rahane (36), Mayank Agarwal (36) and Rishav Pant (23) returned to the dressing room. Then India's collection stood at 18 runs for 6 wickets. From there, Sundar and Shardul put on 123 for the seventh wicket. Sixty-run innings came from the bat of the two. When the team was out for 309 runs, Shardul's name was the highest innings of 6 runs. Sundar was later dismissed for 72 runs.

Shardul took 3 wickets for 94 runs in the first innings of Australia. Abhisit Sundar had 3 wickets for 69 runs. After batting, both of them hit fifty. This is the first time in Indian Test history that any two players have taken 3 wickets and 50 runs on Australian soil. Sundar is also the second Indian to take 3 wickets in his debut bowling innings and 50 runs in his debut batting innings. Earlier, Dattu Phadkar had done the same in the Sydney Test of the 1947-48 season. Overall, Sundar has set this record as the tenth player in the world. Sundar-Shardul's 123-run partnership reduced Australia's lead to 33 runs.

Which is a kind of good news for India. Because Australia had got a 33-run lead against India twice before. The Aussies lost both the matches in Kanpur in 1989-80 and in Adelaide in 2003-04. With this 33-run lead in the last afternoon, two Aussie openers Marcus Harris and David Warner added 21 more runs without losing a wicket. On Monday, Warner will play with 20 and Harris with 1 run.
