Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is ranked 39th in the list of most powerful women in the world

Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been ranked 39th in a list of the world's most powerful women published by Forbes 2020 magazine. He was ranked 29th in the magazine's list last year. He was ranked 26th in the previous year's list.

Forbes magazine has written about Sheikh Hasina being included in the list of powerful women this year. Sheikh Hasina, who has been in power for three consecutive terms, is giving importance to food security and access to education and health services for the people. Besides, he is giving a solid foundation to the democracy of Bangladesh.

Forbes publishes such a list every year. The list, released on Tuesday, includes women of different ages from 30 countries. Among them there are 10 heads of state or government. 36 CEOs of different companies. Five people from the world of entertainment have also come in this list of powerful women.

The women on the list may differ in age, nationality or type of work. But they have all used their platform to address the fundamental challenges of 2020.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel tops the list for the tenth time in a row. Christine Lagarde, the head of the European Central Bank, is in second place for the second time in a row. Newly elected US Vice Chairman Kamala Harris is also on the list. She is in the third place in the list of top powerful women.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is fourth on the list. Melinda Gates, wife of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, is in fifth place. New Zealand's young Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is ranked 32nd on the list this year. He has been elected for the second consecutive term this year.

Among the politicians in the subcontinent, Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is ranked 41st in the list of powerful women.
