Coronavirus: In the last 24 hours, 36 people have died and 2198 have been infected

News Desk: In the last 24 hours, 37 more people have died due to coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country. Among them 24 are males and 12 are females. Thirty-two people died at the hospital and four died at home. The death toll from the virus rose to 6,064.

At the same time, another 2,196 new patients with corona have been identified. As a result, the total number of identified patients in the country stood at four lakh 69 thousand 743 people. In the last 24 hours, 2,073 people, including asymptomatic patients, have recovered in different hospitals and homes. As a result, the total number of healthy patients stands at three lakh 96 thousand 623 people.

It further said that in the last 24 hours, 14,963 samples were collected and 13,389 samples were tested in 138 laboratories. The total number of sample tests stood at 26 lakh 8 thousand 538.

Compared to the sample test in the last 24 hours, the patient identification rate is 15.30 percent. So far, considering the total sample test, the patient identification rate is 16.6 percent. Besides, considering the total number of patients identified, the recovery rate is 83.09 percent and the death rate is 1.43 percent.

Among the dead in the last 24 hours were one under the age of 20, two in their thirties, three in their forties, nine in their fifties and 21 in their sixties. Among them were 25 from Dhaka division, seven from Chittagong, one from Rajshahi, one from Khulna, one from Barisal and one from Mymensingh division.

The first case of coronavirus infection in the country was identified on March 8. The first death from the virus occurred on March 18. Of those killed so far, 5,255 are males (7.45 percent) and 1,819 are females (23.55 percent).
