News Desk:  BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi commented that workers have been pushed away from organizing and free trade union rights. He made this comment at a press conference at Nayapaltan BNP central office in the capital on Tuesday afternoon. Later, on the occasion of the Great May Day, a joint meeting was held with the leaders of BNP and party's organs and affiliates.

He said, according to BBS calculations, 7 crore 35 lakh workers out of 12 crore voters. The world has recognized a day for the dignity of the working class - May Day. The most neglected labor society in Bangladesh today. Rising commodity prices, increasing cost of living, inconsistency with market prices, low wages make it difficult for the working class to survive now. Also, due to the fascist attitude of the government and the undemocratic labor laws giving priority to the interests of the owners, the labor society is facing various difficulties including harassment everywhere. Workers are pushed away from organizing and free trade union rights. The above proposed Essential Services Bill 2023 legislates the right of workers to raise demands.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, Wednesday May 1, the historic Great May Day. World recognized International Workers' Day. In order to celebrate the International Workers' Day achieved through the blood bath movement of workers in Chicago's Hay Market in America in 1886, the Nationalist Labor Party established by former President Ziaur Rahman Biruttam, the best worker of Bangladesh, will hold a workers' rally tomorrow at 2:30 PM in front of the BNP office in Nayapaltan, and after the rally, a colorful workers' rally will start from Nayapaltan. He will finish in front of the National Press Club. They have been informed about this by sending a letter to the police commissioner on behalf of the labor party.

He said that at present, the country is being governed in a dictatorial manner by creating a parliament arranged through undemocratic dummy elections. On October 28, the jailed Labor Party leader Fazlur Rahman Kajol was killed without treatment on the balcony floor of the hospital while wearing handcuffs and leg braces. Four garment workers - Anjuara Khatun, Russell Howladar, Jalal Uddin and Md. Imran was shot dead by Awami terrorists and police.

Rizvi said, the life of the laboring people is now a daily life due to the increase in daily commodities including rice, dal, oil. Due to the increase in the price of government-gas electricity, its impact is not only on the general public, but also on the manufacturing sector industrial plants. As a result, the factory is closed. Government sector jute mills and sugar mills have been closed. As a result, millions of workers became unemployed. Families of workers in inhuman conditions. Their children's education is being stopped due to lack of money. On the other hand, regular posts are being abolished in government offices and outsourcing is being done. As a result, the fields of labor are gradually shrinking. Millions of educated unemployed people are being created.

He also said that the production and marketing of jute, famous for its golden fiber, which earns foreign currency, is stopped, and the dependence on foreign sugar with chemicals is increasing, instead of the healthy sugar made in our country, which is one of the components of the food list of the people of Bangladesh. The country is losing the hard-earned foreign currency of the working people. We hope that working people from all walks of life will participate in the May Day workers rally and rally organized by the Labor Party as a platform for the working class to establish their rights to demand free trade union formation, decent work, safe workplaces and rationing system for workers like others.

The senior joint secretary general of BNP said that leaflets, posters, banners and festoons containing 12-point demands have already been made by the labor party. Five sub-committees formed by the Labor Party are working tirelessly to celebrate the Great May Day. We hope that, ignoring the terrible heat of the commemoration period, on this great day of establishment of rights, working people will attend the labor party rally to protest their sufferings. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir along with top national leaders and labor leaders will address the current labor situation in the rally.
