Accused of absconding rape case arrested in Faridpur

Faridpur Correspondent: The police have arrested an absconding rape accused named Marjum Mridha in Boalmari, Faridpur. Resident of Baikhir Paschimpara village of Chatul Union of Marjum Upazila. The accused was absconding since the case was registered at the local police station on February 14. He was arrested in front of Chatul Fire Service around 11 pm on Tuesday (March 20).

According to the source of the case, the mother of the student died 14 years ago. As his father was abroad in Dubai, he used to study from his uncle's house in Baikhir village of Chatul Union. On February 10 this year around 10 am, Marjum Mridha (42) of Baikhir Paschimpara village of Chatul Union upazila took the student (15) of eighth grade of neighboring Baikhir-Banchaki madrasa to her room and forcibly raped her against her will.

Later, when the student disclosed the matter to the guardians of her maternal uncle's house, on February 16, the daughter's Khalu Afsar Sheikh filed a rape case at the Boalmari police station. whose case number: 14. The rapist Marjum Mridha was absconding since the rape. He was arrested in front of the fire service of Chatul village of the municipality based on a tip-off at around 11 pm on Tuesday.

On Wednesday afternoon, the OC of Faridpur Boalmari Police Station. Sahidul Islam said that after the accused in the rape case was absconding, he was arrested in front of Chatul village fire service on Tuesday night. The accused has been sent to jail by the Faridpur court on Wednesday. However, there are two cases in the name of Marjum during the preparation of the robbery.
