Gas cylinder explosion in Gazipur: Death toll rises to 2

News Desk: One person died at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka due to cylinder explosion in Gazipur's Kaliakore. On Saturday morning, a 45-year-old Mansoor died under treatment. Mridul Sarkar, resident doctor in charge of the emergency department of Burn Institute confirmed this information.

He said Mansoor died at 8:30 am on Saturday while undergoing treatment in the post-operative unit. Mansoor's body was completely burnt. His airway was also burnt in the fire. Two people died in this explosion. Earlier on Friday, a person named Soleman Molla (45) died of burns. She died while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. 95% of Soleman Molla's body was burnt. It is said that he was a worker of a local factory. A gas explosion took place in Telirchala Topstar area of ​​Konabari in Kaliakir on Wednesday afternoon. 30 people including women and children were burnt. Burned people were rescued and admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Health Minister Samant Lalsen said that the condition of 8-10 people who were burnt in the explosion is critical. He said that 90 to 100 percent of the body of each person was burnt. The condition of 7 children among them is critical. Five people, including children, have been kept in the ICU and four in the High Defense Unit (HDU).

The injured are Soleman (7), Sadia (18), Sufia (9), Meraj (13), Tarek (18), Ariful Islam (40), Moshiur (22), Mannaf (17), Sumon (25), Yashin. (21), Shilpi (30), Saidul Islam (30), Golam Rabbi (11), 14-year-old is not known. Sheikh Hasina went to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery to see the burn patients, the minister said, "About 30 people, including 7 children, have been admitted here. All of them are in critical condition. All of them had burned airways.
