Health Desk: Figs are a sweet fruit that grows carelessly around the house, in the bushes and forests. The medicinal properties of this carelessly grown fruit are surprising.

This fruit contains compounds like zinc, manganese, magnesium, iron. Figs are good food for iron deficiency in children, elderly and pregnant women. To get rid of the problem of constipation, nutritionists often recommend drinking fig water on an empty stomach in the morning.

1) Regulates blood sugar balance

Various studies have shown that figs can control blood sugar levels. It also contains high levels of fiber, which is important for maintaining gut health. But according to nutritionists, dried figs are very sweet, so if you have blood sugar, you should eat it wisely.

2) Keeps heart healthy

Figs are rich in antioxidants but also good for heart health. The 'pectin' present in figs is capable of reducing bad cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. At least that's what research says. Figs are also rich in potassium, which balances sodium in the blood. As a result, high blood pressure is also controlled.

3) Increases digestion

Figs are high in fiber, which relieves all stomach problems and improves digestion. This 'prebiotic' fruit increases the number of good bacteria in the gut.
