News desk: The low pressure located in the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas is moving towards the northwest and staying in the same area. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has asked to show warning signal No. 1 in the sea due to the effect of this low pressure.

Monday (November 21) meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Office Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Malik informed this information.

He said that the depression was located 1,430 km southwest of Chittagong sea port, 1,375 km southwest of Cox's Bazar sea port, 1,325 km southwest of Mongla sea port and 1,320 km southwest of Payra sea port at 6 am. It may move further west/northwest.

Abul Kalam Mallick said that the maximum sustained wind speed is 40 km per hour within 44 km of the low pressure center. Which is increasing up to 50 km in the form of gusts or stormy winds. He said that the sea is rough in the area near the low pressure center.

As a result of low pressure, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to display remote warning signal number 1. Besides, all the fishing boats and trawlers in North Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been asked to move carefully.
