News Desk: On the occasion of Armed Forces Day-2022, the President paid tribute to the martyrs of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. On Monday (November 21) morning, they paid tribute to Dhaka Cantonment's 'Shikha Anirban' with flowers.

The President, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, laid wreaths at the altar of Shikha Anirban in the morning. He stood in silence for some time after paying his respects with flowers in the flame. At this time, a smart group of the forces of the three forces gave an armed salute. A sad tune is played on the bugle. Later the President signed the Visitor's Book kept there.

Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is in charge of the Ministry of Defense, also came to Shikha Anirban Chattar and paid tribute to the martyrs with flowers. A guard of honor was provided by a group of selected smart members of the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force and a mournful bugle sounded. He also signed the inspection book kept at Shikha Anirban Chattar.

Earlier, the President and Prime Minister were welcomed by the Chiefs of the three forces and the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Department on their arrival at the Dhaka Cantonment.

After the President and Prime Minister paid their respects, the three army chiefs paid their respects at Shikha Anirban.

On this day in 1971, the Bangladesh Armed Forces comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force launched a combined attack against the occupying Pakistani forces. As a result, the victory of the liberation war was accelerated. Since the independence of Bangladesh, this day is observed as Armed Forces Day every year.
