Zakir, an army man, was killed while escaping from a leaf trap with a woman in Bogra

Sanju Roy, Bogra: Retired army man Zakir Hossain was killed while escaping from the trap of a cheating gang with a woman in Bogra. In this incident, Bogra district police arrested two people with the knife used in the murder. The District Detective Police (DB) arrested them in a raid in Shajahanpur upazila around 9:30 pm on Friday. The arrested are Ashraful Islam alias Asha (24), son of the deceased Milan, accused in the arms case, and Mustafa Kamal alias Kamal (25), son of Shahidul Islam Khokon. Both of them are residents of Kai-Gari Purbapara area of ​​Shajahanpur. The newly promoted Superintendent of Police and current Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) of Bogra Ali Haider Chowdhury BPM gave this information in a press conference held at the meeting room of the District Police Superintendent's office on Saturday afternoon. He said at the press conference that the two arrested have admitted their involvement in the murder during preliminary interrogation. The arrested persons said that they had formed an organized circle and used to target people from different sections of the society with their women members for a long time. By developing friendship with those people in various ways, he used to invite the victims to a house with female members. He would then take offensive pictures of the female member of the gang being intimate with the person and extort the money by showing fear. He also said that Zakir, a retired army man, was also trapped in the same manner and the women members of the gang, Akhi (pseudonym) and Salma (pseudonym), called Kai-gari to a rented house near Zaban School. Then the female members tactfully signaled to go inside by giving missed calls to other associates on their mobile phones. The other members of the gang, including the two arrested, entered the house and detained Zakir and threatened him accusing him of indulging in anti-social activities. At one point, they withdrew 2,300 and 10,000 taka from Zakir's cash through Bhaksha. In the meantime, when Zaki tried to run away from the scene, the arrested Ashraful chased him and stabbed him. At that time the members of the gang ran away from the scene seeing that the situation was dire. Later, the locals rescued Zakir around 7:30 pm and took him to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SHJMEC) Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. Ali Haider Chowdhury also said that the accused were identified based on the call list of the mobile phone used by the murdered Zakir. In this incident, his wife Mumtaz Begum filed a case in Shajahanpur police station as the plaintiff. 8 members of this fraudulent gang are directly involved in Zakir's murder. The operation to arrest the rest is continuing. This police officer said that 1 case under Arms Act is ongoing against the arrested Ashraful. The two arrested will be handed over to the court and a remand application will be made. District Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Abdur Rashid, Shajahanpur police station officer-in-charge Abdullah Al Mamun and district intelligence branch in-charge inspector Saihan Oliullah were present at the press conference.
