Sanju Roy, Bogra: The District Detective Police (DB) arrested five members of the fertilizer theft gang in Bogra on Thursday and Friday in Nandigram, Shajahanpur and Dhunat upazilas of the district. At that time, the police seized the truck used for stealing fertilizer. The arrested are Abdul Alim (50), son of deceased Dabir Uddin Anar of Nandigram, Al Amin alias Alauddin, son of deceased Abdul Pramanik of Shajahanpur, truck driver, Rashid Mamun (48) son of Mamunur, deceased Cholaiman Akand of Dhunt, Md Sajal (35), son of deceased Azizar Sakidar and The deceased is Rafiqul Islam (42), son of Mantaj Mandal. Additional Superintendent of Police and newly promoted Superintendent of Police Ali Haider Chowdhury BPM gave this information in a press conference at the district police office on Saturday afternoon. This police officer said that on September 25, truck driver Al Amin left Ekta Transport Agency in Fenchuganj of Sylhet district with 360 sacks (18 metric tons) of urea fertilizer. These fertilizers are sent to Rangpur buffer warehouse. When Abdus Samad Swapan Al Amin, the owner of the transport agency, tried to communicate with him on the way, he started various arguments. At one point, Al Amin stopped communicating with Swapan. Swapan became worried when fertilizer did not reach the Rangpur buffer warehouse on time. Later Swapan found out that these 360 ​​sacks of Sar Al Amin had been brought to Shajahanpur in Bogra and sold to Rafiqul who was arrested in Dhunte through a circle. Swapan, the in-charge of the transport agency, informed the Bogra district police about this on Thursday. Later, based on the initial complaint given by him, the police started an investigation. After confirming the truth of the incident in the investigation, the DB Police raided Jamadar Pond in Nandigram on the same day. Meanwhile, Abdul Alim was arrested along with the truck used in the theft. Later, according to the information given by him, the others were arrested by the DB on Thursday afternoon. Ali Haider Chowdhury also said that the arrested persons admitted the truth of the incident during the initial interrogation. For a long time, they used to steal in the name of collecting and delivering goods by showing fake drivers and documents in different transport agencies of the country. 360 sacks (18 metric tons) of urea fertilizer stolen from Ekta Transport Agency in Fenchuganj, Sylhet were sold to consumers through Rafiqul's shop. Because of this, it was not possible to recover the fertilizer. This police officer also said that Swapan, the owner of the transport agency, has filed a case at Shajahanpur Police Station as the plaintiff. Those arrested will be sent to jail through court. Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Abdur Rashid, Shajahanpur Police Station OC Abdullah Al Mamun and District DB Police Incharge (Inspector) Saihan Oliullah were present at the press conference.
