Lokman (40) to 1 month imprisonment for illegal sand extraction in Chengerkul area of ​​Fatikchari Municipality of Chittagong. On Monday (September 12) afternoon, the Assistant Commissioner (Land) ATM Kamrul Islam conducted a mobile court with the help of the police of the concerned police station after receiving information about illegal extraction of sand in Ward No. 1 of the municipality. At this time, 5 thousand cubic feet of sand was seized. The accused person Md. Lokman (40). Son of deceased Md. Yunus of Ward No. 1 of Municipality No. 1. It is known that accused of illegal extraction and marketing of sand. Lokman was sentenced to 1 (one) month imprisonment under Section 4(c) of Balumhal and Soil Management Act, 2010 for pleading guilty. About 5000 cubic feet of sand seized at that place was confiscated in favor of the government and given to Md. Rafiqul Alam, Ward Councilor No. 1 of Fatikchari Municipality, and instructions were given to deposit the money in the government treasury through auction sale. The magistrate said that the operation of the mobile court will continue in the interest of the public.
