Fugitive accused arrested in Kurigram

Kurigram Correspondent: The police have arrested Md. Raham Ali, the absconding accused who was sentenced to 1 year in a drug case in Roumari, Kurigram. According to the police, on Thursday night, on the basis of secret information, Md. Raham Ali, a fugitive accused who was sentenced to 1 year in a long-standing drug case, was arrested from Roumari police station area. The accused was absconding for a long time after being released on bail after being referred to the learned court in a case under the Narcotics Act in 2020. Later, as the defendant was sentenced to 1 year in that case, the police arrested the defendant on the basis of a warrant. On Friday (September 9) in the afternoon, the officer in charge (OC) of Roumari police station Rup Kumar Sarkar said that the detained accused has been sent to jail.
