Md. Noor Alam, Gopalpur: In Gopalpur of Tangail, the heart of a teenage gang was brutally murdered by his classmates in a dispute over the distribution of drug and stolen money. Hridyo was the youngest member of the 9 teenage gang. They all used to get drunk by consuming dandi or gum. Hadira used to buy hridoy dandi from a shop in the market. On Sunday, 2 juveniles arrested in the heart murder case gave a confessional statement in court. Gopalpur police confirmed this information. According to the police, they used to steal shoes from the mosque, fruits from the garden and mobile phones from shops to get money for drug addiction. They also used to steal hand-operated pipes, farm animals, goats and household pots and irons. According to the case filed at the police station, on August 22, the 6th class student of Shimla Public Higher Secondary School went missing after going to the heart market. On August 22, Hriday's father filed a GD at the van driver Mustafa police station. On August 28, the Thana police recovered Hriday's mangled body from a pond in Palshia village. Due to the marks of torture on the neck, the father of the deceased filed a murder case in the police station as a plaintiff. Police arrested Abir Hossain, a class 10 student of the same school last Friday. He admitted his involvement in Abeer's murder in the court on Saturday. Meanwhile, Mofiz, who was arrested last Saturday, admitted his involvement in Hridiya's murder in court on Sunday. He is an alumnus of the same school. According to Mofiz, they used to get 5000 taka from Hridiya for the drug debt. On the day of the incident, Hridiya stole 15,000 rupees from his father's pocket for selling cows. He wanted to pay the money due before intoxication but refused to pay due to intoxication. As a result, everyone in the gang decided to kill him. Acting Headmaster of Shimla Public Higher Secondary School Rupan Chandra Guha said that everyone together with Hriday makes a teenage gang. They are all students of his school. Due to school closure for a long time during Corona, they become scoundrels. Intoxication begins with first beedi cigarettes, then gaja and later dandi or gum. Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mosharf Hossain said that Abir and Mofiz have been arrested for allegedly being involved in the murder of another teenager who was the victim of a gang. They confessed in court. Efforts are on to arrest the other accused. Addiction to shoelace gum is on the rise among teenagers. Operation is going on against these too.
