Independent candidate Sultan won in Pabna's Bharara UP

Pabna Correspondent: Independent candidate Sultan Mahmud Khan has been elected chairman of Bhadra Union Parishad of Pabna Sadar Upazila by a huge margin. Returning Officer Kayshar Ahmed announced the private results at 11:30 pm on Wednesday (June 15) after the counting and counting of votes. Independent candidate Sultan Mahmud Khan got 16,936 votes in the private results. His nearest rival candidate Abu Saeed Khan of Nauka Pratik got 11,337 votes. Abu Said Khan, the four-time elected chairman of the boat, lost to independent candidate Sultan Mahmud Khan by a margin of 5,600 votes. It may be mentioned that the election of Bharara Union Parishad of Pabna Sadar Upazila was supposed to be held on December 26 last year. But before that, on December 11, Yasin Alam, the independent chairman candidate of the Pineapple symbol, was killed in an opposition attack during the election campaign. After this incident, the Election Commission canceled the UP election on December 19. About six months later, on Wednesday (June 15), the re-elected Union Council elections were held. Voters were worried about fair elections. However, the election was held in a festive and peaceful atmosphere amidst the strict position of the law enforcement agencies by removing the fears and anxieties.
