Rare post-election violence: Vandalism at Upazila Parishad Complex building

Dinajpur Correspondent: Violence and vandalism have taken place in the Upazila Parishad Complex building by the supporters of the independent candidate for the post of Chairman centered on the announcement of the results of the rare 6th Bijora Union Parishad election in Dinajpur. One policeman was injured in the incident. After the election, the results of the 6th Bijora Union Parishad election, which was held on EVM machine at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, June 15, were being announced by the election office. Meanwhile, supporters of independent candidate for the post of chairman Ershaduzjan Mollah (motorcycle symbol) started protesting in anger and vandalized various things including window glass of various offices of the Upazila Parishad building. Later, when the police chased, the protesters broke the umbrella and the situation came under control. Until the report was written, the joint forces were patrolling the Upazila Parishad premises and the road in front of the Upazila Parishad. Biral Police Station Officer-in-Charge Fakhrul Islam said one policeman from Biral Police Station was injured in the attack. However, no one was arrested in the incident.
