News Desk: Education Minister Dipu Moni says Omicron infection is on the rise. That is why the vaccination activities of students are being expanded all over the country. Everyone will be brought under the ticker. It will take more time to move towards normal education activities.

"Our two years of experience show that corona infections are on the rise in March," he said. So we have to wait until March next year.

The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the Golden Jubilee of Victory and Mujib Birth Centenary celebrations organized by Donia College in the capital on Sunday.

Dipu Moni said, we have a lot more to do in the field of education. Memorization, test-based and certificate is not all education - we are working towards creating an education system where students will acquire skills as well as acquire knowledge.

"We must be ready for the fourth industrial revolution," he said. Must be proficient in information technology. We have not been able to capture the previous three revolutions. If we are not skilled in ICT, the fourth industrial revolution will leave us behind.

Addressing the students, he said, "We have to be science-minded and technology-friendly since childhood." At the same time must be humane people. I hope you will be skilled, competent and good citizens.

"We have seen people being burned to death and conspiring in the name of politics," he said. I have seen Bangladesh being handed over to Pakistan. I saw Bangabandhu being killed. How is it politics? It is murder, not politics. The politics that brings positive change in the education system, employs the youth, nurtures the culture of the country; Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina is leading that politics.

Donia College for the students of the National University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Mashiur Rahman said, "We want you to be skilled citizens." Science and literature must be practiced. You have to be vigilant so that the motherland does not suffer.

President of the College Governing Body KM Mozammel Hoque presided over the function while President of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League Abu Ahmed Monnafi, President of Dhaka Metropolitan South Branch of Awami Swechchhasebak League Kamrul Hasan Ripon and others also spoke.
