The death toll in a road accident in Trishal has risen to five

News Desk: The death toll in Mymensingh's Trishal road accident has risen to five. One seriously injured is being treated at the hospital. The accident took place at around 9 am on Wednesday when a drum truck loaded with sand and a CNG collided head-on.

Two people, including a CNG driver, were killed on the spot. Besides, three more died while undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Haji Mohammad, son of late Hafiz Uddin of Babupur in Trishal upazila. Kalimuddin (65) and Bir Rampur Bhatipara resident of the same upazila. Hekim's son A. Sattar driver (40). The deceased have been identified as Sohrab Uddin, 50, son of Abdur Rahman of Chakrampur in the same upazila, Mina, 45, wife of Azharul Islam of Baghadaria village and Salam Nabi, 32, son of Abdul Quddus of Bagan village.

Fire Service Trishal Station Officer. Riazuddin said a CNG-powered autorickshaw carrying passengers from Trishal Upazila Sadar to Balipara collided head-on with a truck laden with sand coming from the opposite direction. With the help of locals, our fire service personnel rescued the victims. The injured have been sent to Trishal Upazila Health Complex. The body was taken to the police station after the rescue operation.

Trishal police OC said. Main Uddin said two people died on the spot. Four seriously injured people were rescued and sent to hospital. Later, three more died at the hospital. At present the traffic on the road is normal. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
