The heat wave is raging in 17 districts of the country and rain may increase in two days

News Desk: With the south-west monsoon bidding farewell, the rain has dropped drastically at the end of Ashwin. In the last one day, it did not rain anywhere in the country except Chittagong and Barisal divisions. So after a long time, mild heat wave is spreading across a wide area of ​​the country.

According to the Meteorological Department, 16 districts across the country, including Dhaka, are experiencing heat waves, with the maximum temperature reaching 38.2 degrees Celsius. The temperature was recorded in Bogra on Friday (October 15).

Due to the lack of rain in the last few days, the heat has taken a toll on people's lives. However, the good news is that the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said that the tendency of rain may increase in the next two days.

Meanwhile, southwest monsoon winds are pouring in from across the country. There is also a light pressure in the Bay of Bengal, the meteorological department said. The maximum temperature in Dhaka on Friday was 36.4 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius are mild, 36 to 40 degrees Celsius are moderate and temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius are called intense heat waves.

Meteorologist Ruhul Quddush said that the light pressure in the East-Central Bay of Bengal and its adjoining areas is presently in the West-Central Bay of Bengal and North-West Bay of Bengal. It may move further west and northwest. South-west monsoon winds have blown away from the north of the country. Monsoon winds are less active elsewhere in the country and weak in the North Bay.

The meteorologist also said that mild heat wave is blowing over Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Mymensingh, Comilla, Noakhali, Feni, Chandpur, Pabna, Bogra, Sirajganj, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Jessore, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet areas.

He added that in the next 48 hours, southwest monsoon winds could blow away the rest of Bangladesh. At the same time, the tendency of rainfall may increase during this time.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 6pm on Friday said that some parts of Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and a couple of places in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions may experience temporary showers with gusts or thundershowers.

During this time, day and night temperatures across the country may remain almost unchanged, the forecast said.

Khepupara in Patuakhali received the highest rainfall of 48 mm in the last 24 hours from 6pm on Thursday to 6pm on Friday.
