Monwar Hossain said, ‘The light pressure located in the coastal area of ​​Andhra Pradesh near the West-Central Bay of Bengal and nearby North-West Bay of Bengal is presently located in the North-West Bay of Bengal. It may move north-west. Monsoon winds are fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong in North Bay.

He said that in the next 24 hours from 9 am on Tuesday (August 18), most parts of Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusts. At the same time, there may be moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country. '

The meteorologist also said that the day and night temperatures may decrease slightly across the country at this time.

Meteorologist Shahnaz Sultana said, "The light pressure is now located between the waters of the Bay of Bengal and the land of India. It will not have much effect on us here. We will get rain, it will rain here. '

No warning signals have yet been issued at seaports, he said, adding that "if more clouds come." And if the wind speed increases further, then a warning signal may be given. '

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours was recorded in Sandwip from 8 am on Monday to 8 am on Tuesday, with the meteorological department recording 6 mm of rainfall. At this time the rainfall in Dhaka was 13 mm.

The highest temperatures in the country on Monday were in Tentulia and Chuadanga. The temperature in both places was 34 degrees Celsius.
